Against the Lord is Destruction

Hosea 13:9
You are destroyed, O Israel,
because you are against me,
against your helper.

There is no other way to have a meaningful life. Live with God. For without Him, there is nothing. Everything is destined for destruction without Him. He is the core of every creation, every life, everything here on Earth and the whole universe. Live with Him and feel truly alive. There is no other way. No compromises. No nothing. Absolutely nothing.

9.9.09 | 3 - Free From Fear

Don't tremble with fear! Didn't I tell you long ago? Didn't you hear me?
I alone am God - no one else is a mighty rock.
Isaiah 44:8

God has shown His goodness and love to us through the ages. Even at the beginning. He has already shown us how special we are to Him. He created us in His image and likeness. He gave us the garden of Eden. He proved His power to protect us against our enemies. He gave His only Son to die for us. He has done so many things for us already, and rest assured that He wil continuously do more. The above statement is a promise from Him. He is our rock. With Him on our side, we can be free from fear against anything and anyone. It is a declarative statement with no "buts" and "untils". Do not fear for He is God, our God.

9.9.09 | 2 - Judging Others

A Woman Caught in Sin
John 7:53-8:11 (CEV)

Being naturally sinners, we have a tendency of doing bad unto others, from the simplest to the most complex, the lightest to the heaviest, the subtlest to the most vulgar. It doesn't matter what degree of "badness" it is, even just thinking of something bad to a person is a sin. We see other's bad but don't see our own. We tend to judge many but ourselves.

"Then they said, 'Teacher, this woman was caught sleeping with a man who isn't her husband." Jn. 8:4

The Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus and brought a woman who was guilty of adultery. They brought her to Jesus to test what He would say and do. But Jesus said:

"If any of you have never sinned, then go ahead and throw the first stone at her!" Jn. 8:7

Of course the people knew deep inside their hearts that they also sinned, so no one did anything and just simply went home. Then Jesus said to the woman:

"I am not going to accuse you either. You may go now, but don't sin anymore." Jn. 8:11

It may appear as if the sin didn't matter. But what is shown here, is how Jesus knew our human weaknesses and that He is giving us a second chance. He sees the best in us, not our wrongs. If ask for forgiveness and repent, He is sure to forget any sin. He loves us that much.

So, if Jesus Himself believed in us and never judged, who are we to do what he didn't do? Who are we to judge people whom He didn't judge? He is a living example of a perfect human being.

I know, and Jesus knows too, that it is hard to see goodness in people you don't like, but that's what He wants. Ask that He give you the strength to do just that and surrender yourself to what He wants. It is never easy, nothing is ever easy. But we must do it anyway.

Bible Verses You Need to Take at Heart

I need an excuse to always read my Bible. So I've made my devotional reading into a blog! Actually, it's more of verse-studying. *hehe* ^^ This blog will contain purely verses and my meditations about it. And hopefully, I could update regularly. That means, reading daily. I'll make this as a sort of rule for me, to read the Bible daily, so I could write daily.

I'll be posting some initial verse readings that I included in my other personal *random* blog, I am Crizna. And will be updating twice a day, for morning and evening readings.

You guys can use this as your own devotions and quiet time. I hope someone can also benefit from this. :D

Do leave a message, comment, reactions, questions, and suggestions. I'd be very much open to take about anything reasonable. ^^

God Bless All! Photobucket

9.9.09 | 1 - Love

What if I could speak all languages of humans and of angels?
If i did not love others, I would be nothing more that a noisy gong of a clanging cymbal.
What if I could prophesy and understand all secrets and all knowledge?
And what if I had faith that moved mountains?
I would be nothing, unless I loved others.
What if I gave away all that I owned and let myself be burned alive?
I would gain nothing, unless I loved others.
Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud, or rude.
Love isn't selfish or quick tempered.
It doesn't keep a record if wrongs that others do.
Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil.
Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting.
Love never fails!
Everyone who prophesies will stop, and unknown languages will no longer be spoken.
All that we know will be forgotten.
We didn't know everything, and our prophesies are not complete.
But what is perfect will someday appear, and what isn't perfect will then disappear.
When we were children, we thought and reasoned as children do.
But when we grew up, we quit our childish ways.
Now all we can see of God is like a cloudy picture in a mirror.
Later we will see him face to face.
We didn't know everything, but then we will, just as God completely understands us.
For now there are faith, hope, love.
But of these three, the greatest is LOVE.

1 Corinthians 13 (CEV)

Unconditional love. All of us know how hard it is to love everybody. Yes, you could easily love your friends and family and everyone you like. But, what about people you hate, your enemies? People who are against you? People who hurt you? God already said in the first lines of 1 Corinthians 13, a man could be everything, have everything, and own everything, but without love, he is nothing. How frustrating is that? To be perfect and successful and be nothing in actuality? To have everything and yet nothing. Even if you're a good person and you never really harmed others, unless you have loved them, you are nothing.

Love isn't just a thing for two opposite sexes in a relationship. It is not confined to that. Love is a many wonderful things that must not be limited to just two people.

So, love. It is a complete sentence in itself. Love! A verb which means a lot of things. Love, so that you'll be full. Love, so that you'll be complete. Love, so that you'll be something. For there is faith, hope, and love. But of these three, the greatest is love.
